Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Alive Labs ("Alive Labs," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information when you visit alivelabs.io or any of our product subdomains (the "Site"), or when you contact us through the Site.

By using the Site, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways: what you provide to us directly, and what we collect automatically when you use the Site.

Information you provide

• Contact form submissions. When you fill out our contact form, we collect the information you provide, including your name, email address, phone number, the product or topic you indicated interest in, and the message itself.
• Correspondence. If you email us directly, we retain the content of the correspondence and the email address from which it was sent.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data. Pages you visit, links you click, time spent on pages, referring URLs, and the route you took through the Site.
• Device data. Browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen size, language preferences, and IP address (which may be truncated for analytics purposes).
• Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and local storage to remember your preferences, measure usage, and improve the Site. See "Cookies" below for details.

AI chat interactions

The Site includes an AI-powered chat. When you use it, we log:

• The text of your prompts and the response we returned (which page or product was shown, and the text of any narrative reply our AI generated).
• A pseudonymous session identifier and a one-way hash of your IP address used for rate-limiting and abuse prevention. We do not store your raw IP for chat logging.
• Operational metadata: timestamp, response timing, and whether your device is mobile or desktop.

Before storage, an automated redactor replaces obvious personal identifiers in prompt text — email addresses, phone numbers, government identification numbers, and credit-card-shaped digit sequences — with placeholder labels. The redactor is best-effort; please avoid pasting sensitive personal information into the chat.

We use chat logs to understand how the Site is used, identify common questions our content does not yet answer, and improve the experience. Chat logs are retained for 90 days and then deleted automatically. We do not share chat logs with third parties for advertising purposes.

2. How We Use Information

• To respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about our products and services.
• To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our products.
• To analyze how the Site is used, so we can make it more useful and reliable.
• To prevent abuse, detect and prevent fraud, and protect the Site from attacks and spam.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described here:

• Service providers. We share information with vendors who help us operate the Site and our business, including hosting (Vercel), email delivery, anti-spam and anti-bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile), and analytics. These providers are contractually bound to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.
• Legal requirements. We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or legal process, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the rights of others.
• Business transfers. If Alive Labs is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

4. SMS and Text Messaging

Some Alive Labs products and services offer text message (SMS) programs. If you opt in to receive text messages from us, we collect your mobile phone number, your opt-in consent record (including the date, time, and method of consent), and delivery metadata for the messages we send you.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We may share mobile information only with service providers acting on our behalf, such as our message delivery provider, and solely to deliver the messages you signed up for.

• Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.
• Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

5. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, and measure usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some parts of the Site.

We may use third-party analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the Site. These tools collect information about your device and your use of the Site and may use cookies to do so. For more information about how Google Analytics handles data, see Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain contact form submissions and related correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry, maintain our business records, and comply with legal obligations. We retain analytics data in aggregate form for as long as we find it useful for improving the Site.

AI chat logs are retained for 90 days from the date of the interaction, after which they are deleted automatically by an internal scheduled job.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we collect, including transport encryption (HTTPS) and access controls on stored data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

• Know what information we have collected about you.
• Request a copy of that information.
• Request that we correct inaccurate information.
• Request that we delete information we have about you.
• Opt out of certain uses of your information.

9. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. International Users

Alive Labs operates from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may be different from those in your country of residence.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the Site or by other reasonable means.
